It is a sacrilege to compare present-day China's policies to Lenin's NEP!

Even if the exaggerated figure of "400 million people having been lifted out of poverty" is true how does that make China a socialist country? Advanced capitalism has accomplished similar economic "feats" in the past. The leaflet "Reasons to support China" does not contain a single word about the open betrayal of the Chinese revolution by Deng Xiaoping and his present-day henchmen, the open restoration of capitalism, the overexploitation of the Chinese working class by foreign corporations and domestic capitalists, the dramatic increase of the absolute impoverishment of the working class, the tight control of the "tremendously powerful" labour unions by the "Communist" Party, the fact that the latter is the only communist party in the world which includes multi-millionaire capitalist parasites in its ranks including in its central committee, which brainwashes the working class with the premise that workers and capitalists have common interests. The leaflet does not contain a word about China's open alliance with imperialism (Yugoslavia, Iraq, DPRK, "terrorism"). The list is endless.

Is that the kind of socialism the CPGB-ML advocates?

I was interested to find this article. 20 years ago I had a book published on different economic concepts to point the way to a sustainable world economy. Someone who liked the book recently contacted me to suggest that I update and re-publish it as a blog. She set up the blog, and the book is nearly complete on the blog in a series of postings. Here is the link:
