		<description>thanks for your comment, sukhdev. *most* political meetings are "family and friends" (and contacts) - it is not easy to get masses of people to a meeting. however, the response from the people at the meeting was highly enthusiastic. they learned things about china which they will pass on to others, so the effects of the meeting are not limited to the event itself. 

there is a huge body of literature devoted to whether or not china is a socialist country. we believe it is, but either way it's most important characteristic from an internationalist point of view is that it provides tremendous support for oppressed countries throughout the world and it is a barrier to the unrestricted madness of imperialism.</description>
